Actors' photo postcards and our top ten tips on photo postcards
- Choose a card which is the same thickness and dimensions as a regular postcard.
- On one side print a versatile headshot (you may have your name printed on this side).
- On the other side leave space for your message and print your name (if not on the front), contact information (or your agent's), lines for the recipients' addresses and a square on which to place a stamp.
- Verify the name and address of each recipient.
- Handwrite your message, but make it legible.
- Use "Dear" or "Hi" and the person's first name.
- Invite the recipient to see you perform in the particular show you're appearing in. Don't forget to include the date, time and channel your episode(s) will be airing on.
- Mention the name of the character you're playing and something interesting about the role.
- Attention to detail reflects well on actors. Don't forget to include the date of writing and sign your name.
- Mail the photo postcard so that it arrives two or three days before the show airs.
