  • Remember to update your contact information.
  • Include your own contact information even if you have a non-Australian agent.
  • If applicable, use your Australian agent's contact details as well as or instead of your non-Australian agent's.
  • Mention what country you are from.
  • If you are only going to be there for a short time, give plenty of notice and the dates you'll be in the particular city so that the people you're writing to can try to make time to meet with you.
  • If you have relocated to Australia permanently (or will be), mention it. That way you'll seem more settled and committed to work in Australia.
  • If you are from a non-English speaking country but are fluent in English, mention this.
  • In some countries, agents deal exclusively in a particular type of work, and are happy if you do too. In Australia, on the other hand, most agents work in all fields and look for actors who are versatile. So be clear that you are keen to work broadly.
  • To demonstrate that you are already or will be active in the Australian industry, mention any training you are currently undertaking or enrolling in and any work you have done or lined up in Australia.
  • Use a (professional) translator, if necessary.
